This is the Gearbox selector fork for 3rd and 4th gear
Selector forks are responsible for moving the Synchroniser hub to the correct gear during gearchanges.
Over time, or with hard use, the selector forks can bend or wear at the fork end.
Wear and damage on the fork causes difficulty engaging gear, as well as increasing the wear on the hub and synchroniser.
Worn selector forks can also cause “grinding” during gearchanges as well as difficulty selecting gear.
